DJ’s senior pictures at the beach on Presque Isle were a perfect way to celebrate his high school career. The sun was shining, the waves were crashing, and DJ looked great! We started near Misery Bay taking advantage of the foliage on this beautiful state park before moving onto the beach for sunset photos.
The Best Option
When getting senior pictures taken in Erie Pa, there are a lot of great locations to choose from. Because we live right on Lake Erie, one of the most popular choices is the beach. The beach provides a beautiful and natural backdrop for photos, and it can be done either at the ocean or at a lake. There are a few things to keep in mind when taking senior pictures at the beach.
What About DJ’s Session?
First, we found a location with a pretty view. DJ chose Presque Isle because he lives in Millcreek and it’s close by. It’s the location he visits the most often. For his sunset photos we found a spot where there’s a nice sandy beach with a great view of the sunset.
Second, DJ layered his outfit for the weather. We realized that while most people think of the hot sand and sun while visiting the beach, it’s very windy down there. You can see in quite a few of DJ’s photos that his hair is windblown.
While we did begin in the tree lined park area surrounding Misery Bay and took advantage of the monuments and plaques, it was nice to move over to the beach for the final photos. DJ took his shoes off at the end of the session to walk along the shoreline and feel the sand in his toes. We also took some epic power photos with the lighthouse behind him. The short beach cliff that separates the lighthouse property from the beach was just high enough for a unique perspective.

In conclusion, senior pictures at the beach are a perfect choice for all of us Erie County peeps. Presque Isle is just one of many interesting and beautiful locations on Lake Erie.
